Dark or Deep Web : What and How to Access it

What is Dark Web?

Dark web or the Deep web is generally the part of the World Wide Web that is only accessible by means of special software, allowing users and website operators to remain anonymous or untraceable. Meaning that users can access any kind of information or allows users to surf through the internet without being traced by anyone(not even your internet service provider ).

The Dark web consists of the Dark websites which can only be accessed using dark search engines, browsers and some other tools. A Dark website is a typical website, which looks exactly like a normal website and also provides features similar to that of a normal website. The reason why it is called as Dark website is because of the illegal content that it provides to the users visiting that site.

They are pretty much like an other website on the internet, but there are some important differences. One is the website name, instead of ending in .com or .co, the dark websites end in .onion. That's "a special-use top level domain suffix which indicates an anonymous hidden service reachable only via dark search engines and tools. Browsers with appropriate proxy can reach these sites, but others can't.

Dark web sites also use a scrambled naming structure that creates URLs that are often impossible to remember. For example, a popular commerce site called Dream Market goes by the unintelligible address of “eajwlvm3z2lcca76.onion.”

Many dark websites are set up by scammers, who constantly move around to avoid the wrath of their victims. Even commerce sites that may have existed for a year or more can suddenly disappear if the owners decide to cash in and flee with the escrow money they’re holding on behalf of customers.

How To Access Dark Web??

Dark Web can be accessed by using some special browsers like Tor browser which is also called as the onion browser. It was developed in mid-1990's by United States Naval Research laboratory employees, mathematician Paul Syverson, and computer scientists Michael G. Reed and David Goldschlag, with the purpose of protecting U.S. intelligence communications online.

Is Using Tor legal or illegal??

Using TOR is not illegal, but visiting dark web sites engaging in activities that are illegal in your country will be illegal.

How Tor Works?

Tor aims to conceal its users' identities and their online activity from surveillance and traffic analysis by separating identification and routing. It is an implementation of onion routing, which encrypts and then randomly bounces communications through a network of relays run by volunteers around the globe.

Everyone on the internet can be identified using their ip address, However Tor Browser bounces from one ip address to another every second. Meaning that your ip address changes every second making you untraceable.

What Content is found or Provided on Dark Web??

You can find illegal goods and activities of all kinds through the Dark web. Which includes illicit drugs, pornography, child pornography, stolen credit card numbers, human trafficking, weapons, exotic animals, copyrighted media and anything else you can think of.

Anonymity is part and parcel on the Dark web, but you may wonder how any money-related transactions can happen when sellers and buyers can't identify each other. That's where Bitcoin comes in. Bitcoin is basically an encrypted digital currency which is used widely for online transactions and payments.

My personal Suggestion :-

However i honestly don't recommend you to use Tor because of the risks that are involved(Your computer getting hacked) while surfing or interacting in Dark or Deep Web. Answer to why i provided this information in the first place is purely for providing general knowledge about the part of Internet most of us don't know. We surf through the internet 24/7 but are not even aware of the things that go behind the scenes.

Beware Apple Users: These Popular iOS Apps send your Location Data to the Third Party

Do you know that your data can be sold for money? These popular iOS apps have been spotted sending the users location history as well as the real-time location information to third-party firms. As the users data is very important to firms in predicting and meeting the future needs of a user, some apps are claimed to use this strategy for their personal gain. Companies pay really high for user's information (like location, purchasing interests, etc) and hence the apps are collecting user's information and selling it.

Some popular iOS apps like ASKfm, Classifieds 2.0 Marketplace, Tapatalk, and Homes.com are claimed to collect information about the GPS longitude and latitude, Bluetooth LE beacon data, WiFi SSID and BSSID using a packaged code provided by monetising firms. The data that is collected is later sent to the firms that monetise and sell it for their personal gain. As, the GuardianApp stated in a report that "In order to gain initial access to precise data from the mobile device's GPS sensors, the apps usually presents a rational justification relevant in Location Services permission dialogue and  failed to mention  that the data is also shared with the third-party monetising firms".

Till now 24 iOS apps have been claimed to collect the user data and send to the monetising firms. Also, the GuardianApp stated and specified that 12 data monetisation firms that collect user data including RevealMobile which was previously suspected of collecting data from popular app like Accuweather. Additionally, some apps constantly send updated GPS coordinates, accelerometer data, battery charge percentage and status, cellular network MCC/ MNC, cellular network name, GPS altitude and speed, timestamps for departure/arrival of a particular location every second to firms.

You might be wondering why Apple is not aware of this business and how Apple is allowing it. But as a matter of fact as per App Store legal guidelines on data collection and sharing, Apple restricts apps that send user's location data to third parties without explicit user consent. However, the app developers are smart enough to provide no details about accessing of user's data or sharing the data with any monetising firms while uploading the app in App Store.

How to Temporarily Prevent apps from exposing your Information??

Apple is now looking forward to exclude these apps from the App Store, until then you can temporarily stop these iOS apps from exposing your data by following these certain steps, Apple recommends that you need to turn on the Limit Ad Tracking feature on your iOS device.

Settings > Privacy > Advertising > Turn on Limit Ad Tracking feature.

Additionally, you can select the Don't Allow option if a location Services permission dialogue contains see privacy policy or similar text surfaces on the screen. You can also use a standard name for the WiFi router, and Turn off Bluetooth functionality when not in use.

One Plus 6T Features Leaked..!!!

I know that we all have been desperate for the One Plus 6T. However, rumors say that the smartphone will be launched officially by the company in the month of November. Usually, the T - models are high-end models of their series. Fans can expect no less from the the Game Changer Smartphone company One Plus to launch its new flagship smartphone by the end of this year.

Though its been few months since the Official launch of One Plus 6 fans must be expecting the unveiling of the 6T. Generally, the company unveils the T - model phones in November. So, we can estimate and start expecting the smartphone by the end of November.

Leaks about the device had already started coming in. The One Plus 6T is expected to come with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will also feature the Snapdragon 845 Octa-core chipset, and also supports Fast Charging feature. Clearly the device can be called as a high-end model.

The Special feature of the 6T  is the presence of an On-Screen-Fingerprint Senor, meaning that the fingerprint sensor is embedded into the display. This feature eliminates the problem of trying to reach the fingerprint sensor which is present at the back of the other models. However, the One Plus 6T will not become the first smartphone with the On-Screen-Fingerprint Senor due to existing Vivo models.

The idea of having an On-Screen-Fingerprint Senor makes the device look more cooler. As One Plus is reputed for its built quality and performance of the smartphones, This feature will enhance the company even higher.

In the past, there were also rumors saying that the One Plus 6 is going to be embedded with the On-Screen-Fingerprint sensor. But, the reason why the One Plus 6 didn't get this cool feature is because of the reduced device unlocking speed so the company ignored the sensor. But now the company seems to have fixed this issue and planning to build the sensor into the One Plus 6T.

Spider-Man PS4 Game Launched Ahead of the Original Date

Spider-Man for PS4 was said to be released on 7th September. However, some lucky gamer's got a chance to play this Game ahead of its original release date. Spider-Man PS4 is now available for gamer's to purchase via online Stores and PlayStation stores.

When compared to other Top Games like Uncharted 4, No Man's Sky, and  Ratchet and Clank could be purchased ahead of their release dates. The game is officially available now in USA, Europe and few other countries. On 7th the official release date the game will be available in all the countries.

If you are in India then you need to wait because for India to get copies of Spider-Man PS4 early is not possible, because most Indian retailers would not sell a Sony game ahead of release date.
