OnePlus 6 OxygenOS Open Beta 2 Launched With Certain UI Improvements



OnePlus 6 has received the OxygenOS Open Beta 2 software update, which is Similar to the previous update, this update is also based on top of Android 9.0 Pie. Though they are certain improvements and optimisations that are made to the OnePlus 6's operating system, launcher, camera and Messages app.

According to the official change-log on a OnePlus forum post, Oxygen OS Open Beta 2 brings improved stability for background power consumption control, WiFi connection, and optimisation for pocket mode to reduce accidental touches. Coming to the UI, the update includes optimised multi-tasking User Interface(UI) in the launcher as well as improved UI for receiving verification codes or OTPs, the front camera image quality is also optimised for better picture color reproduction. 

By the way this update is not available via OTA and hence the users will have to download it manually to update their smartphones. The Rom size (file size) of the OxygenOS Open Beta 2 is about 1.5 GB.  However it is advised that before installing this software backup your original software using some recovery software( twrp, cmw) as this is a beta software and may not be as stable as the official version.


How to download OxygenOS Open Beta 2 for OnePlus 6

Good news for the users who already installed OxygenOS Open Beta on your OnePlus 6, you can directly update your smartphone via OTA which will be rolled out soon.

However, if you don't have the OxygenOS Open Beta installed you can directly download the OxygenOS Open Beta 2 custom rom at xda developers and flash it on your device.
