Nikon launched two new DSLR camera's in India the Z7 and Z6, attempting at full-frame mirrorless cameras. These two models are based on the new Z-mount, and Nikon has a brand new set of Nikkor lenses to complement them. Interestingly, both the Nikon Z7 and Z6 are identical in design and button placements also providing great grip to hold.
The company Nikon modelled the Nikon Z7 and Z6 after the Nikon's flagship D850 camera which raised a passion among various photographers. Also there are a sheer number of buttons on the camera. Both Nikon Z7 and Z6 come with only a single memory card slot on the right side and it is of XQD type. XQD cards typically offer great read and write performance compared to normal SD cards, but XQD cards are a bit expensive compared to SD cards. A 64GB XQD card may cost you around Rs. 8,000/-.
While coming to the differences between both the camera's the major differences lie in the sensor resolutions, number of autofocus points, ISO ranges, and burst shooting capabilities.
The Nikon Z6 has a LCD that only tilts up and down and cannot be flipped all the way around and also it is of 24.5-megapixels. The camera surprisingly has a 100-51,200, ISO range and burst shooting is pretty good at 12fps(frames per second). The camera has got a decent score around 273 PDAF points.
Coming to the Nikon Z7 it consists of a huge 45.7-megapixel CMOS sensor which allows plenty of headroom for cropping, even while printing large-scale photographs. Another interesting feature of the Nikon Z7 is its high-resolution sensor. It has 493 autofocus points, which is a lot more than Nikon Z6. Compared to Z6 the Nikon Z7 has a less fps which is 9fps and a narrower ISO range of 64-25, 600.
Talking about the common features, both cameras have high quality EVFs and LCD screens. The LCDs support touch input for setting focus points, previewing images, and changing settings. Surprisingly there is also a 5-axis in-body stabilisation, which is not present in Canon's EOS R. This feature allows better stability while shooting in low light condition. The Z6 and Z7 can shoot 4k video at up to 30fps without any cropping, and 1080p video at 120fps.
Nikon is also gonna introduce three new lenses at the launch event i.e; a 24-70mm f/4, a 35mm f/1.8
prime, and a 50mm f/1.8 prime. Also, the company Nikon is gonna launch its Nikkor Z 56mm f.0.95 S Noct, which is the best in the lineup. You, can also buy an FTZ mount adapter, which will let you use most existing F series lenses with the Nikon Z7 and Z6. Note that these two models will be shipped from November
