Google is set to Launch its Google Neighbourly App in India

Google is planning to make its Google Neighbourly App available for Bengaluru and Delhi and is said to add more cities like Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Indore and Chennai in few weeks. This new Google neighbourly app can answer users questions like what's the best math tution available in this area?, which is the best dinning restaurant?, which is the best school in this area?. The Neighbourly app is developed by the Google's innovative Next billion Users team.

The app uses current location of the user and identifies the best choice available for its users in their locality. It is a social app that allows users to freely interact with people living within 1km radius. The app is basically designed to make it easier for users in a city to ask local questions and find reliable and relevant answers directly from their neighbours.

Ben Fohner, Senior Product Manager of Next Billion users team said that, "In our research, we've found that most of life happens within a 1km radius of where you live, We've also found that when finding local information, people prefer to ask or discuss with another person. Neighbourly makes it easy to seek advice and recommendations from neighbours who know the area and have similar tastes. That's why we built Neighbourly, that's why people use it, and that's why we're so excited to make it available to everybody across India".

Google also said that it found that many users asked for being able to join different neighborhoods. This feedback has been taken into account and helped the Next Billion Users team to include some new features such as automatic suggestions on the nearest neighborhood, switch between multiple neighborhood, personalized questions, give Top Neighbor status and advice on how to ask response-attracting questions.

The app supports English and eight other Indian languages which makes it easy for the users to use. Users can download the Neighbourly app via Google PlayStore and the download size of the app is 11MB.  Surprisingly, the app also works with devices running from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to the latest Android 9.0 Pie.
