Netflix to Shutdown on Nintendo Wii in 2019

Nintendo is a Japanese multinational consumer electronics and video game company which is headquartered in Kyoto. Nintendo is closing its Wii Shop on January 30 2019 which means that the streaming services like Hulu , Amazon Prime, Niconico will not be accessible anymore on the Nintendo Switch. Netflix emailed its reader that Nintendo will suspend all video streaming streaming services on the Nintendo Wii along with Netflix and will not be accessible to the users from January 31 2019.

Its been a long journey for Nintendo Wii since it first went on sale in 2006. However, Nintendo's latest console Nintendo Switch also seems to be exceptionally popular but lacks Netflix app. Last week the Nintendo Switch got its own YouTube app and is said to have Netflix real-soon.

Users owning the Nintendo Switch can download the YouTube app via the Nintendo eShop which is free of cost. Touchscreen support is limited to video playback and users can't swipe across it like it does on usual android smartphones. Additionally Nintendo Switch has a pro controller that allows the users to navigate through its interface. Also, users can now sign-in to their Google account to gain complete access and information relating to purchased movies, subscriptions, history and playlists.

Note that the YouTube app supports 1080p only in docked mode through a compatible screen, however users can watch 720p videos in the handheld mode.
